Multi-Base + Capsules (5.5 / 8.0)
Multi-Base is a revolutionary development and forms the foundation of our modular anterior segment models.
The Multi-Base platform itself is modular and allows the user to install different Capsules into the Base. Simply attach various Eye Fronts to train on many surgical scenarios.
This reusable system allows for increased realism and decreased cost with subsequent uses.
Features:
Modular Design – Multi-Base pairs with different Capsules for a variety of functions
Reusable – Multi-Base and Capsules are reusable and replaceable if needed
Reduced Cost – Save your Multi-Base and Capsules and use them again and again!
Environmentally Friendly – Less impact on the environment is always a win!
Replaceable Eye Fronts – Multi-Base supports many different Eye Fronts for a variety of training options
Components:
Multi-Base -- reusable, modular base that accepts Capsule 5.5 or Capsule 8.0
Capsule 5.5 -- reusable capsular bag with pre-made 5.5mm rhexis
Capsule 8.0 -- reusable capsular bag with 8mm opening for use with Rhexis Films
Assemblies:
Multi-Base Capsule 5.5 -- combination of Multi-Base + Capsule 5.5
Multi-Base Capsule 8.0 -- combination of Multi-Base + Capsule 8.0
Pre-Made Rhexis vs Make-A-Rhexis
Capsule 5.5 = “Pre-Made Rhexis”
This capsule has a pre-made 5.5mm capsulorhexis which is the foundation of many models including Aphakia 2.0, Capsule Support 2.0 and even PhacoMaster™. It is very versatile and provides the capsule anatomy to accept Lenses for phaco training or to simply insert devices (IOLs, CTR’s, Iris Prosthesis) without having to perform phaco to remove the lens.
When using PhacoMaster™, a pre-made capsulorhexis maximizes training time while at a phaco lab station and allows for a more routine and successful case. The goal is quick throughput with the focus on the use of the machine.
NOTE: Capsule 5.0 has a pre-made rhexis and should not be used with Rhexis Films.
Capsule 8.0 = “Make-A-Rhexis”
This capsule has a larger 8mm opening which allows the use of replaceable anterior capsule Rhexis Films to create a capsulorhexis. When using PhacoMaster™, this provides a more complete experience by adding the crucial step of making a CCC when time allows.
NOTE: Capsule 8.0 is used for CCC training when combined with Rhexis Films.
Complete EYE vs. EYE FRONT vs MULTI-BASE:
