“Pre-Made Rhexis” vs “Make-A-Rhexis”
Capsule 5.5 = “Pre-Made Rhexis”
A pre-made capsulorhexis maximizes training time while at a phaco lab station and allows for a more routine and successful case. The goal is quick throughput with the focus on the use of the machine.Capsule 8.0 = “Make-A-Rhexis”
A larger 8mm opening allows the use of replaceable anterior capsule Rhexis Films to create a capsulorhexis. The goal is a more complete experience which adds the crucial step of making a CCC when time allows.
Lens Options:
Choose from Hard, Medium or Soft Lenses. Learn to adjust your phaco settings and your techniques with different lens types. Just starting out? Go with the Medium Lens to work on Divide and Conquer. Ready to step up to Stop and Chop or Quick Chop? Use the Medium or Hard lenses to work on horizontal and vertical chop techniques. The Soft lens is great for those harder to remove lenses that tend to get bowled out. Try them all and let us know which is your favorite!

The Pre-Sculpt Lenses for PhacoMaster are an excellent starting point when learning phacoemulsification. These lenses have pre-made grooves extending 80% depth which divide the lens into 6 sections. Sculpting and chopping are not required. Simply use the phaco tip and second instrument to separate the pieces and create nice segments that are ready for emulsification. Learn to rotate the phaco tip to get a good purchase on the lens fragments, bring them up into the AC and then emulsify them. The Pre-Sculpt lenses are a great way to get familiar with the phaco pedal and learn how to control the machine and adjust the settings to see what is happening.

Anterior Segment
SimulEYE remains the most realistic platform for practicing with the Zeiss miLOOP device or Akahoshi-style pre-choppers.
The upgraded Aphakia 2.0 Eye, when paired with our Pre-Chop Lenses and various Eye Fronts, provides an ideal setup for hands-on training with these instruments.
Building on the strengths of our original kit, the miLOOP Kit 3.0 delivers unmatched realism in surgical training with the miLOOP device. It’s also easier to use, and the durable capsules allow for multiple practice sessions.
Begin training with the Aniridia Eye Front to operate without the iris, allowing a clear view of the nitinol wire expanding within the capsule and dissecting around the lens. Rotate the device to see and feel the loop passing behind the lens.
When cutting the lens it will rock out of the capsule just like in a human eye. Learn to rotate the lens and create more cuts. Easily remove the lens fragments to assess your performance. Reload with a new lens and repeat for continued skill-building. With all of these features, surgeons can quickly gain valuable experience and confidence.
This system is compatible with other Eye Fronts, supporting a wide range of anterior segment training including suturing and even phaco!

It is ideally sized for the Alcon MTA3UO ACIOL lens which has a diameter of 12.5mm. Learn how to insert the ACIOL with the proper incision size, rotate it into position and remove it. Capsule Support 2.0: Advanced training for critical skills in a modular format
We're excited to introduce the updated Capsule Support 2.0 model! This version maintains all of the same features found in the original model but now utilizes our modular system for anterior segment training. The distinctive half-iris design concept has been updated with a half transparent iris and now utilizes our proprietary Hydro Iris™ material for enhanced realism.
The Capsule Support 2.0 model provides an eye with a capsular bag and an iris that is HALF TRANSPARENT! It is ideally suited for working with CTRs, Capsule Hooks, Ahmed Segments, and other devices that are used to support an unstable capsule. The half transparent iris allows visualization of the capsule to better understand the proper insertion angle for CTRs and to be able to visualize the capsule when using these devices. When working with Ahmed segments, it can be helpful to work initially on the transparent side and then rotate the eye 180 degrees to work on the other side with the opaque iris and hidden sulcus. You can also place iris hooks on the Hydro Iris™ which has excellent tissue realism. Multiple procedures can be performed on each model before the eye is consumed.
Key Updates:
Modular Design: Capsule Support 2.0 features our reusable Multi-Base Capsule 5.5 and replaceable Eye Front Capsule Support 2.0
Replaceable Cornea-Scleral Shell: The Eye Front Capsule Support 2.0 maintains the complete cornea-scleral shell which is now replaceable.
Hydro Iris™: Proprietary iris material which softens over time after hydration to mimic real tissue. Allow 2 minutes for the iris to fully hydrate and become ready for use.
Accessible Capsule Bag: You can now remove the Eye Front to gain easy access to the capsule to remove IOLs or other devices and continue practicing.
Long Shelf-life as it is no longer gel filled.
Supplied with 5cc Cohesive Viscoelastic Substitute – Eye only, Not Eye Fronts

SimulEYE® is proud to offer the most realistic models for surgeons training on the Staar Surgical Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) or similar implantable lenses for the sulcus.
The SimulEYE ICL Kit is required to support the consumable Eye Fronts. The ICL Base is reusable and provides a robust red reflex which allows excellent visualization of the lens. The Eye Fronts have a flexible iris which allow for realistic implantations into the sulcus.
The Eye Fronts are configured as either “Open Sky” with a rim of corneal tissue and pre-placed incisions to work through or “Full Cornea” where the surgeon creates their own incisions. A Combo Pack with one of each type is included in the Kit and refill packs of each type are available separately.
The Open Sky Eye Front is reusable many times and is ideal for learning how to tuck the ICL footplates into the sulcus again and again without having to load the lens each time or surgically explant the lens.
The Full Cornea Eye Front provides the most realistic experience as it allows injection and unfolding of the ICL in the anterior chamber. This is a single-use Eye Front and should be used after adequate training with the Open Sky version.
ICL KIT INCLUDES:
ICL Base (reusable)
Eye Front Combo Pack: Open Sky and Full Cornea (1 of each)
Lighted Base
Curved Forceps
1 x 5cc Cohesive Viscoelastic Substitute – use behind iris to maintain sulcus and around limbus

Visualization & Diagnostic Models
As an evolution of our Red Reflex & Anterior Segment OCT model, the revolutionary SimulEYE® SLE-BIO model provides the ultimate in visualization of the anterior and posterior segments. Proper anatomy is provided throughout the eye including a cornea with realistic anterior & posterior curvature and thickness, an anterior chamber with angle anatomy, iris, lens and a detailed retina.
The cornea is rigid for durability and clarity and the entire eye is sealed and reusable. This model is ideal for learning how to use a slit lamp to examine the cornea, anterior chamber, angle structures, iris, lens and retina.
Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopy can be practiced as well as retinal photography. It also works great on diagnostic devices utilizing OCT and it can be used to demonstrate the red reflex of surgical microscopes. Changing the light source between Stereo Coaxial Illumination (SCI) and oblique helps the user to understand how to bring out the red reflex or use surface lighting when needed. Scanning the eye with OCT allows for visualization of the anterior and posterior cornea along with the iris, angle and lens. Use of a mirror or gonioprism will allow visualization of the angle.
SLE-BIO is the one model for all of your visualization needs!
This model is sealed and does not require any set-up. With proper care and use it is designed to be reused multiple times. We do not recommend making surgical incisions into this eye.
We strongly recommend purchasing the following:
Elevated Base for use under a microscope or with an indirect ophthalmoscope.
Slit Lamp Stand provides a platform to securely hold the SimulEYE models for use at a slit lamp or slit lamp-based laser platform.

As an evolution of our Red Reflex Advanced model, the SimulEYE® BIO model maintains a glass optic cornea for excellent visualization of the posterior segment which now reveals a detailed retina image so it can be used for Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopy or retinal photography. The BIO model still provides a bright red reflex which can be demonstrated on surgical microscopes. Changing the light source between Stereo Coaxial Illumination (SCI) and oblique helps the user to understand how to bring out the red reflex or use surface lighting when needed. Manipulation of the various light sources and intensities facilitates an understanding of how to operate the microscope settings to optimize the surgical view.
This model does not have anterior segment anatomy and is not suitable for OCT imaging. For anterior segment viewing and OCT capability please see our SLE-BIO model. Begin your Hydrus journey with the Reusable model which is extremely valuable to understand the proper approach angles. This model is designed to be held in the non-dominant hand for easy manipulation and fast learning. Discover why 4 clock hours away from the incision provides the optimal angle to deliver the device into the canal.
See what happens when you attempt to implant too far away on either side. The more distal you are, the more the device is being directed toward the back wall instead of gliding through the canal. The more proximal you are, the harder it is to enter the canal and the distal tip will tend to externalize out of the canal. Yes, this can actually happen!

This model was developed in conjunction with New World Medical for their STREAMLINE device. When using STREAMLINE and a gonioprism, the surgeon can visualize the angle structures, pierce the TM, deliver viscoelastic into the canal, and see it track outward to each side. Upon removal of the device, the trabeculotomies can be confirmed visually while additional installation of viscoelastic at another location will result in some reflux out through the otomies. This model is a variation of our Multi-MIGS eye and incorporates pre-placed incisions and internal dams which limit the flow of viscoelastic around the canal to maximize the number of times the model can be used.

Sim-Head MARIO is our all-in-one head solution to support SimulEYE models with great ergonomics for hand placement and fluid management while allowing for eye movement. The removable Face Mask is attached to the Base Tray with magnets for a secure fit which is easy to open. A Fluid Management System with a hand pump and tubing are included and store neatly inside. Any fluid used during procedures can run down through the orbit or down the side of the face and through the ear opening to be captured in the Base Tray. Mario features a height adjustable stand for the eyes which allows proptosis such as when working superiorly at the forehead over the orbital ridge. Be sure to watch the video to see the proper set-up and storage as well as the many features that Mario has to offer.
TIPS:
Place Mario directly on a flat surface and allow the non-slip feet to hold it in place.
Do not place a chuck or drapes directly under Mario or he will slide around.
When setting up the Fluid Management System, tape the tubing to the table and keep the Pump in a vertical position so water will flow through more easily.
Position the Pump for easy access when the Eyes are being turned over and even during the case if needed.
Using the Pump frequently will keep the Base Tray clear of fluid so it does not spill over.

Congratulations on your decision to train with pre-chop devices such as the Zeiss miLOOP and the Akahoshi style pre-choppers. These are some of the most effective methods when it comes to manually disassembling the nucleus. But it is important to become very familiar with the instrument before using it with patients to make sure you protect the capsular bag and the zonules. And now, all you need is a simple set-up to get started.
When used in combination with our Aphakia 2.0 model, these Pre-Chop Lenses provide the most realistic experience possible. The Lenses are opaque which can help to differentiate them from our PhacoMaster Lenses.
Use with our Aniridia Eye Fronts with no iris so you can see what is happening in the peripheral capsule.
While you can practice phaco chopping techniques with these Pre-Chop Lenses, they are NOT designed for phacoemulsification and can clog the tubing or cassette. Please use our PhacoMaster Lenses when working with the phaco machines.
Features:
Cost effective
Easy Set-up
Quick lens replacement between cases
Realistic Lens Material – learn to pre-chop!!

Congratulations on your decision to train with PhacoMaster – the most realistic phaco training system ever developed! Here you can reorder the different Lenses that we offer. The lenses are translucent rather than opaque so you can visualize the red reflex as you get deeper into the lens.

Pre-Made Rhexis vs Make-A-Rhexis
Capsule 5.5 = “Pre-Made Rhexis”
This capsule has a pre-made 5.5mm capsulorhexis which is the foundation of many models including Aphakia 2.0, Capsule Support 2.0 and even PhacoMaster™. It is very versatile and provides the capsule anatomy to accept Lenses for phaco training or to simply insert devices (IOLs, CTR’s, Iris Prosthesis) without having to perform phaco to remove the lens.
When using PhacoMaster™, a pre-made capsulorhexis maximizes training time while at a phaco lab station and allows for a more routine and successful case. The goal is quick throughput with the focus on the use of the machine.
NOTE: Capsule 5.0 has a pre-made rhexis and should not be used with Rhexis Films.
Capsule 8.0 = “Make-A-Rhexis”
This capsule has a larger 8mm opening which allows the use of replaceable anterior capsule Rhexis Films to create a capsulorhexis. When using PhacoMaster™, this provides a more complete experience by adding the crucial step of making a CCC when time allows.
NOTE: Capsule 8.0 is used for CCC training when combined with Rhexis Films.

Acrylic provides an ideal surface to attach the eyes while the non-slip feet on the bottom keep it from moving. The Plate’s low profile allows it to be used in conjunction with many tabletop microscopes. It pairs nicely with the MIGS Kit 2.0 to provide a larger working surface. You can choose between a Large Logo across the whole plate or a Small Logo located in the lower right corner.

The Slit Lamp Stand provides a platform to securely hold the SimulEYE models while performing laser procedures. It is to be used with SimulEYE® YAG, SLT and LPI models. The stand will allow the eye to be positioned in the same location as a patient’s eye and will also allow for the use of a laser lens when needed. Each stand is very robust and can be used and reused multiple times. The stand will hold up to 3 eyes at a time which is helpful for loading multiple eyes of one type for a given laser or for loading different types of eyes when working with combination lasers. The stand has a lot of adjustability and is designed to work with any slit lamp-based laser delivery system.

Introducing Q-It-Up!™
The simple yet ingenious solution to putting cotton tipped applicators (or other items) at your fingertips in seconds. Think about how many times a day you reach for them and the routine you go through each time … especially if they are sitting in a glass jar, on the counter, out of reach. Now you can have them in use with your patient in about a second!
Brought to us by Michael Snyder, MD of the Cincinnati Eye Institute who wanted to get his idea out to his peers and knew that SimulEYE was the perfect partner.
Features:
Provides convenient access: Attach Q-It-Up!™ directly to your slit lamp stand (or anywhere within reach) to “cue up” and access your cotton tipped applicators in seconds.
Easy to install: Simply peel off the adhesive protector and attach it to any flat surface.
Easy to remove: Removable adhesive technology allows quick removal by slowly pulling straight down on the release tab
Small Footprint: You can align multiple Q-It-Up!™ containers together and use them for other items like tonometer tips, fluorescein strips, lissamine green or even a gonioprism.
Each Box contains:
3 x Q-It-Up!™ containers

Features:
Easy Set-up
Quick lens replacement between cases
Great red reflex
Visualize the periphery when using the Aniridia Eye Front
Realistic Capsule and Lens -- See and Feel the loop dissect around the lens
